State Committee Woman Alisha Beeler Enters 26th LD Race, Vows Legislative Reform

Port Orchard, Washington – January 20, 2020 – Kitsap County’s Republican State Committeewoman has entered the race for the 26th Legislative District State Representative’s seat, position 2. Her entry into the race follows months of conflict between the embattled incumbent and the local political parties. “There is an increased urgency to directly challenge aggressive taxation policies in Olympia,” said Beeler when asked about her campaign, “and with the voters overwhelming rejecting Olympia’s tax policies in the last election it is important that we send legislators who represent the will of the voters.”

When asked about how she planned to impact policy in Olympia Beeler showed concern over the current legislative practice of title only “ghost bills” and the importance of ensuring transparency to the voters by eliminating this practice. She also indicated a significant interest in updating infrastructure on major roadways to improve reduce congestion through Gig Harbor and in proximity to the shipyard. As a career professional in correctional rehabilitation, Beeler added that she is uniquely qualified to provide solid solutions for drug and crime issues in our community.

“My experience in juvenile corrections, rehabilitation of at-risk youth, working with adult felons and extensive education in Public Policy make me the ideal candidate for the State Representative 26th LD, position 2,” Beeler said.

The community has been invited to contact Alisha Beeler with their concerns in the legislature.
