ABOUT ALISHA

Born in Kitsap, Alisha was a Navy daughter that moved around a few times, but ultimately ended up back in Port Orchard attending Cedar Heights and going on to graduate from South Kitsap High School. Later she would graduate from Washington State University with a bachelor’s in social sciences with emphasis in Criminal Justice, History, and Sociology. In her thirties she endeavored to gain more education in areas that would help her to pursue her passion of government where she could make the most impact. Alisha graduated first with a master’s degree in Public Administration, another in Public Policy, and another in Political Science. She is now working on a PhD in Public Policy with an emphasis on Social Policy.

Alisha started her career working in a juvenile prison with at risk youth. She then went on to work in a juvenile detention facility and worked with foster kids in the system for a few of those years. After years of very rewarding work, she decided to move up to the court system and currently works as the Pre-Trial Services Officer. Seeing every felon that comes into the court system and the increase in crime in our community is part of the reason we need change. During this time, she also created and implemented the Veteran’s Treatment Court Mentor Program. As the coordinator, she brought in volunteers, trained them, matched them with participants in the treatment program, and was there to debrief after meetings. Once it was up and going, she passed it over to the very mentors she brought in and it is still thriving. Alisha finds it an honor to have been able to serve so many veterans in the community.

Alisha is also active with volunteering in the community. She is an executive board member with Fathoms O’ Fun. She is a member of the Port Orchard Soroptimists. Alisha has volunteered with the Humane Society for their pet walk. Collected food for those in need and wrapped many presents for those less fortunate through Port Orchard Cares. Alisha also serves as the State Committeewoman for the Kitsap County Republican Party.

Alisha has two amazing children, Olivia (13) and Matthew (8). She is also blessed with a wonderful partner, William and his two children Carter (20) and Ethan (17). Fortunately, Alisha has most of her family and friends who have been so supportive throughout her life in the area.
